Carson & Barnes Circus rolled in

A few weekends ago, I saw a note come through email from the City about the Circus that was coming to town and we had the chance to get tickets and go!  We told the kids about it and they were excited to go!  The only detail I was not really sure about was where it was going to be held.  There is a new arena in the town that they were hosting it, so I thought it was an indoor event.  They mentioned in the ticket information that you could come an hour early before the show and go through the Circus Alley to ride elephants, and play games.

The day of the circus came and we got dressed as if it were going to be indoors and headed off.  As we got closer, we noticed a huge tent that was clearly NOT INSIDE.  The weather was cool and misting occasionally and per the earlier morning forecast, was only going to go downhill from there.  We had no jackets or umbrellas, but were going to brave the chilly day anyway, after all, we can now see the elephants!! So exciting!!

The first thing we did when we got there was ride the elephant.  These are just the most adorable animals!  I love them.  They had a giraffe there too but he was under a tarp covered area for some reason… my guess is to keep him warm!

He is just so cute! The kids would have loved to ride him around for hours.  The cost for them to turn in 1 circle was $30 bucks so that’s borderline RIDICULOUS but at least they got to do it once.  They had a little section, like… VERY little of animals to pet and you could feed them but it was just too cold to stand there so we opted to run and grab lunch and come back when the show was closer to starting.

Here were some of my favorite things during the show.

So I realize that I am obsessed with these elephants.  I am also realizing I didn’t take pictures of the amazing trapeze and crazy swinging people that I thought were sure to slip and fall and yet was so astonishing to watch.  We loved every part of the show—minus the cold wind blowing in from under the tent.. BRRRRRR!!
The other cool thing they did in the show was have a guy come out on a motorcycle and twirl around in this round steel caged ball.  It was cool with just 1 guy, then they brought out a 2nd guy which was awesome but then they brought out a 3rd guy.  My heart was beating so fast!!  We were amazed!

I had to video it! They told us not to video, but I couldn’t help myself.  I am not sharing it here but if you follow me on instagram you might have seen it there.

Loved this circus! Hope they come back when the weather is a bit better!  Awesome!  All we missed out on seeing were tigers.  I don’t think they have any in their show.  We did see some cute dogs and tricks with them but would go back again for sure!

Oh how fun! I haven't been to a circus in forever. I can imagine the kids had a blast riding the elephant and watching the circus acts!

Looks fun, sorry the weather didn't cooperate. Probably going to do this big petting zoo in our area this summer and gear Elise up for the circus when she is another year older.

Wow, it's been such a long time since I went to a circus. I remember being fascinated, and super scared for the trapeze artists too! Love the elephants, and that's so cool the kids got to ride.
