Christmas Q&A

I am linking with Elaine and this month Kir for some Old School Blogging- a Holiday Edition, thanks to Emmy for pointing this meme out!

1 Holy Night or 8 Crazy Ones? (Do you Celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, both?)
Christmas and all of the build up for it!

Peppermint or Chocolate?
I love chocolate.  I am picky about the kind of chocolate I like it but I am definitely not a fan of peppermint.

Sing us into the Holiday Season, what is your favorite Carol this time of year?
I was thinking about this the other day.  I was making fun of my neighbor who was playing Christmas music in her car earlier in the month, telling her it was WAY too early.  Then, I caught myself on some channel on TV with Christmas carols that children were singing in a choir and I got choked up!  I think its such a special time of year and the reason for the season brings joy to my heart and tears to my eyes.

  • O, Holy Night from Church Hymns and All I want for Christmas by Mirah Carey!  Lately, I have really been loving Under the Tree by Kelly Clarkson!

Tell us about a Favorite Family or Personal Holiday Tradition
We have a lot of traditions and I think my favorite is going as a family to pick out our Christmas tree together.  I had a fake tree growing up and LOVE the idea of a live tree in our home.

C’mon you remember your favorite  (Christmas, Hanukkah) gift, tell us all about it:
I don’t know why I have such a mental block about my favorite gift growing up but I think the 2 major ones I can remember was getting a bike with Fievel mouse sitting on top of it and another year getting a polaroid camera.

That magical moment? (Your favorite scene from a Holiday movie…it’s okay if you have 2)
If this counts as a Christmas movie, my favorite scene is from “Love Actually” when the guy goes to the best friends wife to tell her how he feels via poster board and then walks away.  I also LOVE the scene from “Elf” when Buddy screams “SANTA!!!! SANTA’S COMING!! I KNOW HIM!!”

Kissing under the mistletoe?  Who do you hope is standing underneath (We know it’s normally your spouse, if it did not have to be, who would you choose?)
Honestly, sweet snuggles and kisses from my kiddos would melt my heart.  Were you thinking I’d pick a famous actor or something?  Rayne is learning more how to pucker her lips up and even says “MUAH” when she gives her slobbery kisses… wouldn’t trade it.

Swans a swimming, lords a leaping, golden rings; which gift of the 12 days of Christmas would you like most?
Lets go with the four calling birds.  Why not?

Play Secret Santa, what inappropriate gift would you love to give this year?
Maybe sending someone who I really dislike a big box of coal or poop.   Or mixed batch of both!

Martha Stewart or the Grinch? What is your decorating style? (Pictures would be awesome!)
I am a total Martha!  I usually am better about doing themes for the whole house but this year nothing came to me.. I love decorating for Christmas though!  Little details around the house… special ornaments, lights, Chippy… the whole shaBang!

What is ONE WORD that defines the holiday season for you?
(Examples: Believe/Wonder/Bah Humbug?)

Tradition… creating ways to make the season special so that we all remember the reason for the season and the joys it brings us as a family.

If Santa could assure its delivery, what’s the first thing on your holiday wish LIST?
A check for all my debts and a trip for me and my family to take guilt free.

I love both of those Christmas movies! We watched them last week. Love Actually makes me tear up every year even though I've seen it like a dozen times now!

My friend loves Love Actually, and I have never seen it but need to change that. I love getting our own tree, peppermint, and O Holy Night! We are born to be friends :)

Oh it would be nice to have all debt paid off.. though let me buy a house first, then get that present :)

Good song choices. There really is something so wonderful about this time of year.

Love all I want for Christmas. I'm also a big fan of baby it's cold outside, and rockin around the Christmas tree. I've been singing Wyatt Christmas carols all month long! I love making traditions for us too. I told match I was fed up with stringing the lights on the tree, but then he reminded me of how special it is when we go pick out our tree together. For a grinch, he can really be sweet sometimes!

Yes, yes no more debt would be incredible! I hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas! Xo
