It’s a question that many use in an interview… “Where do you see yourself in 5 Years?”

I was just wondering that question myself as this coming February marks 5 years that I have been blogging.  Its hard to believe how much has changed in 5 years with me and our family.

Ryan was 5 months old when I began The Johanson Journey.

He is in his final year at a daycare/preschool and going to be starting kindergarten this Fall!
We have welcomed 2 more sweet babies into our lives… Reese in 2010 and Rayne in 2011:
Mackie has survived all of the new additions very well, with the exception of the stuffed animals that have not been as lucky.

Erik and I both have new jobs and have moved into a new home.
McKinney House
Erik will have completed his masters by the end of February!

What a whirlwind of a past 5 years!! I can’t even begin to guess what the next 5 years holds for us!
Maybe another round of new jobs?  Another degree in the works?  A brother or sister for the kids?  A new puppy to add to our family?  Goals that haven’t even been thought of yet are ahead and a world of so many unknowns!  Ryan will be 10 years old.  Reese will be 8 and Rayne will be 7!! We won’t be paying for daycare which will be nice if a 4th baby doesn’t end up happening.  Maybe we will be in a new house.  Hopefully we will have gone on our first family vacation and who knows where technology will be by then!

Its so hard to think of where I see us aside from older but I am excited to look back and post about the whirlwind of the Johanson Journey in 2018!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?  It’s a tough question!

Remember when 2000 anything seemed like so far in the future, now we are in 2013? Crazy! Mike will finish his 2nd Master's in May, so who knows maybe after that, I will force myself to go back and finish college!

Oh wow! I had no idea you'd been blogging that long! How have you been able to stay interested in it? I really wish I still felt the desire to.

Ya'll have done so much in just five short years! I about choked on my cereal when I read the part about a new baby! Are ya'll considering a 4th?!?! How exciting! I'd like to add one more thing to your list of possibilities - how about a move to Nashville, Tennessee? :o)

That is a VERY tough question. I barely know what I'll be doing next week! I just balk at the thought that I will have a 5 year old!

It has been such an amazing 5 years for you and happy upcoming blogiversary! Also your house is beautiful. :)

Wow, now that's a busy 5 years! I'm coming up on 5 years blogging too. Wow, I can't believe it's been that long for me either. Who would have thought? And I still love doing it. Isn't it fun to look back on those old posts? They help for when the memory is lacking-or in our case to solve arguments. "Oh yes I did say that, see I wrote it in the blog!"

In 5 years...what a fun question-I just have to answer this more fully on my 5 year blogoversary. But the short answer-hopefully I'll have my 2 living children, Match will have a new job closer to home, and we'll be debt free, or closer to it!

It's crazy to look back at five years and see how much has changed. For me, everything in my life now is a polar opposite of what it was back then - thank God.
Although, in interviews, I always hate that question. When they ask that I want to tell them "How the hell am I supposed to know!" but, hopefully assuming correctly, that would definitely land me in the won't-be-getting-that-job category :D

5 years is a little too far in the future for me to look. But looking down the road 1 year I hope that I have a new job maybe a new career and I hope I have moved and settling into a great little apartment/house.

Btw, you have a darling family.
