Big Dreamer

When I grow up.... I want to be...... um..... uh......
What a hard statement to finish.
"The world is your oyster"
What a bizarre phrase! I never really even liked oysters until I got to college and was trying to be brave and eat one.

"Webster has a definition for oyster that is a bit obscure and certainly fits the phrase: Oyster - something that is or can be readily made to serve one's personal ends."

Oysters produce pearls, objects of great value. Once you have the oyster, it gives up the pearl without much of a fight. Getting the pearl requires the oyster to be opened. But despite the hardness of the oyster shell, they can be opened with ease. Oyster shells are held closed by a single muscle called the adductor. Oysters are shucked (opened) using a thin knife to cut the adductor muscle. Once the adductor is cut, the shell falls open.

I think the hard part of this whole definition and inspirational quote is..... finding an oyster that has a pearl is not easy!  I assure you that I am shucking my share of oysters but have not found my pearl yet- but hope after all the hard work, my pearl will be found.

My pearl will glow and I hope someday it will be bright enough to share with you.  I'd love to own my own store... so that is where I'm headed.  How? I don't know.  What? I don't know.  But I'm shuckin' away.   Wish me luck!

Love this post!! Very inspiring!! Your pearl is in the process of being made. Just takes patience until it's finished :)

If I remember right, it takes a VERY long time for a pearl to be formed and perfectly made. But look at how beautiful it is when it's finally complete! Have patience! Your pearl will be ready in time!

What a great analogy! If you put your mind to it- you can do it for sure! What kind of store do you want?
