12 Days of Christmas: 7

For those of you who commented on yesterday’s post about the songs where I asked if you knew what movie “All I want for Christmas is you” reminds me of or came from brings me to my Day 7 post!

DAY 7:  Snuggle up for some Movies!

My favorite Christmas movies are probably not even considered Christmas movies but just happen to come out around this time of year and have a theme of Christmas in them.

All I want for Christmas is you song reminds me of one of my favorites:

Love Actually.. it just seems to be that “feel good” movie where you can almost relate with every character or at least be rooting for a happy ending with each one.  It actually makes my heart flutter to watch it.

My favorite scene by far is the poster board:

Next up is some humor and I can’t help myself but I think these are my top two!

Does anyone else feel compelled to say their favorite Christmas movie is:

You know, I’m going to be honest.  I have said it for years, ever since I was a kid that this was a favorite but really—its not.  I am not even 100% sure that I have seen it from beginning to end.  I have seen the key scenes but its overplayed and a movie that I can easily get up and walk away from without feeling like I need to get back to watch it.  I’m sure ya’ll might think I’m nuts for saying that—but I’m just layin’ it out there.

And while I’m at shocking you….. I also want to admit that I have never seen either of these and am okay with that:

I also have some late breaking news to update you on the

I have never seen A Christmas Story. I have no idea why not, but it's just never been on my list of ones to watch at Christmas! We love Love Actually and ELF, though! I also watch The Family Stone every Christmas, too. You'd probably like that one, although it is a little sad. :o( And you really ought to watch It's A Wonderful Life! I love that one, too!!

I have never seen A Christmas Story either! Maybe I should try to hunt it down on TV sometime in the next few weeks...
Elf is by far my favourite. I also love Miracle on 34th Street, the Home Alone movies, and I usually watch The Family Stone this time of year too, but I think I'll skip it this year as the story is hitting a little too close to home now and I'm afraid I'll bawl like a baby (more than I usually do!)
Remember yesterday when I told you I had a friend who loves the movie Love Actually? I borrowed it from her last night - going to watch it this weekend. :)

I didn't like A Christmas Story growing up at all, though the rest of my family did. The tongue scene just made me cringe! I won't make my children sit through that.

Though I do think I'd like Love Actually, but I've never seen that one. I need to get my Christmas movie priorities in order!

Christmas time always brings about the inevitable shout of "SQUIRREL!" in our house just because of the Christmas Vacation movie. LOVE that movie only because it's a staple memory of my father laughing his head off at it over and over again each year.

I had never watched the Christmas Story until I was in my twenties. Meh. It's okay.

I also have yet to watch Miracle on 34th Street, even though my mother acts shocked each year when I tell her so.

I'm going to have to watch Love Actually because of this post. The poster? Pidder Padder heart beats and a little bit of swoon...beautiful!

Ok, if you ever have a couple of spare hours (yeah, right), you have got to watch It's a Wonderful Life. You won't be disappointed, I promise! It is such a great movie...makes me cry every time I see it!
I don't really like A Christmas Story either.

Love Actually, Elf, The Holiday, The Family Stone, and The Santa Clause are all movies I watch at this time of year.

My favorite from Love Actually is the scene where the writer is in the car with his house cleaner, and they're both speaking in their own language about how much they enjoy spending time together. Something about it just gets to me! It's such a great movie!

Well the only movie that I have seen on your list is A Christmas Story. :) It's my favorite just because it's tradition. I can easily get up and walk away from it but if I don't watch it at all it feels like Christmas just wasn't complete!
