Day Dreamin’

I have no idea if there is an end in sight for this ridiculous summer heat.  I saw a potential cloud that was giving me hopes of a rain drop today but turns out that today wasn’t my day.  I know in just a few months, I will be complaining about the winter chill… so while I try to escape this reality of a never ending summer, I thought about a vacation Erik and I took when we were newly dating back in 2005.  We took a trip to Boston, Massachusetts which is the farthest northeast I have ever been!

I am linking up today with Becca over at her new site called R We There Yet Mom!?  If you feel like daydreaming, pop over with me!

As I was pulling up pictures to post from our trip, I was realizing that this trip to Boston was taken in August which is exactly 6 years ago! Wow! Time really does fly!
We got a mini tour by my GodFather who we were visiting/staying with of the downtown Boston area.  Here was the Paul Revere tower where he warned the country that the British troops were coming.  I was intrigued because the tower was now Christ Church which meant something to me as there is a Church in Georgia which I can share about in another post where my Grandmother is buried with the same name.

Statue of Paul Revere
There was a cemetery in the middle of the city where Paul Revere was buried along with Samuel Adams who was one of the Founding Father’s of the USA!  He was also 2nd cousins with John Adams, our 2nd President!

I am totally not a history buff but found it was picture worthy to say I saw these sites! There was a memorial for John Hancock and monument to Benjamin Franklin’s family, even though he wasn’t actually buried there.

NOTE: I had to GOOGLE every single one of these pictures to find out what the heck they were… yeah, I said I wasn’t a history buff.. eep!

We stayed in Shrewsbury in this lovely home where I saw my GodFather for the first time in probably 25 years!
Some of our first pictures together as a couple!! I love these! I wish I knew what happened to that shirt too!

Here we are with my GodFather.. gosh, that sounds so serious!! His name is Dick and growing up, seeing him in pictures, I used to always think he looked like Michael Keaton.. maybe not.  heh.IMG_0236
Good times!

I can see where maybe when he was younger he looked like Michael Keaton...I get it!

Boston is my most favorite place on earth. It's the only city I'd ever want to live in and I love, love visiting it. It's been like 2 years since I've been...time to start planning another trip I guess!

I desperately what to go to Boston.

I AM a history buff and I think it would be amazing to see everything there.

I just looked Shrewbury up on the map yesterday!! I am not even kidding. There is a brand new letterbox series there and it's theme is Harry Potter!

Those houses in the background are a DREAM!

I love vacations!! I've always wanted to go to Boston! : )

And can I have that house?! I love houses that are in places other than Texas! Have you ever noticed we don't have any of those cool houses like everywhere else? I'm jealous!

I would love to visit Boston some day. I'm not a history buff, either, but visiting places that significant events happened in the past always give me chills and make me feel so alive.

Look at your hot self! And are you sure those were taken 6 years ago? Because you look just as hot now as back then!

I can definitely see the Michael Keaton resemblance. And I love his house - I'm a little jealous of his front porch. :o)

You look FANTASTIC in these pictures!! Super blonde, super tan. I am going to go hide my pasty white, brunette self in the closet now...

His house is GORG!!?? And you look amazing, sista.
Not that you don't now... ugh. Nevermind.

How awesome that you got to see your Godfather. He is a handsome man! And it looks like a great time for all.

Wow! I would love to visit there! I've never been up that way. I think I've only made it to Chicago! I need to travel more.

Loving all the pics especially the ones of you and HH! So sweet!

I would love to go to Boston.

My hubby has been there twice. And his sister lived there for a few years. I'm a history buff, so I would die and go to heaven if I ever made it to Boston.

Thanks for sharing!

Boston sounds like so much fun! It was 97 degrees here at 10:00 last night. I don't see me complaining about the cold this winter...I just don't. In fact, I may play in the snow in my pajamas just for the heck of it.

I would love to visit that area! I think American history's so interesting. I just don't have a memory for it. Great pictures of you and your man. And, I can definitely see the Michael Keaton resemblance with your Godfather.
