Merry Christmas-July Style

christmas 1

I’ve been to a few stores lately… and it never fails that you see the next season out on display WAY before anyone is ever ready for it.  I recall when I was looking for ideas in MAY for Reese’s birthday party in JUNE, that Party City already had their aisles set up for Halloween.  It felt a tad rushed and premature….. and lets be honest.. why not wait till the last minute when you can get it on SALE vs. shopping early and paying full price?  That has been my mentality.

So, what is Christmas in July?  I feel so out of the loop because I am just now paying attention to the world around me apparently and this has been going on since 1980!!!  That means I have been missing out on a fun time of year for 31 years.

As I hit stores like Hobby Lobby and Michaels, I have come to accept the Christmas Decorations.  While I”m not yet in the spirit of Christmas, I do find this to be a lil’ push for me to get on the ball and start my Christmas early!  I know many people shop early for Christmas and I always talk about it but end up waiting till the last minute…

As I said before--- Who wants to pay full price for something when they can wait for the SALES to start!?

Well, retailers apparently went out and bought stock to fill their inventory in preparations and are finding that they bought too much so you are finding more places now that are having a literal Christmas in July sale!
First summer cyber Monday sale July 26

It may be WAY too early to think about Christmas for most… but its giving me the push and inspiration to start NOW!  I have about 12 people in our immediate family that we buy for each year and I have 2 gifts already!! I’m feelin’ pretty proud of myself!!

Do you have a wish list started?  What’s on it?
I think I”m officially putting this on my wish list….

Merry Christmas… in July!

We bought a Christmas present for someone just recently, too! I've NEVER bought presents before December before. So, way to go on getting some shopping done early.

I saw Hobby Lobby setting up Christmas stuff the other day. Ugh.

But I still browsed the ornament isle! lol!

All I can think about this year is what I want to spoil...I mean get Jaina for Christmas. I haven't even begun to think of a list for myself.

My ultimate wish would be an in ground pool - gift from hubby and me to ourselves...and one we'd be paying for over several years!

I haven't been to any stores other than Walmart & home improvement places for months, so I haven't seen this yet, but it honestly drives me nuts to see stuff put out so early. It feels like it creeps up every year. Soon they'll have Christmas stuff out in April! I'm one of those procrastinators who doesn't shop for Christmas until welllll after Thanksgiving. Shame on me. :o)

Frankly the idea of Christmas shopping makes me a little nauseous! But if that is something you want to do in July go for it!! I am going to curl up in a ball and pretend I never heard of Christmas in July now.

It seems like the set up for Halloween and Christmas earlier and earlier every year. My mom would always have Christmas taken care of by the end of August. She was crazy like that. Honestly, I feel like I'm doing well if I'm done in the first week of December. I've got the silhoutte on my wish list too!

WHAAAT? You are kidding! Ok, I DO start shopping early but I didn't know they were having cyber monday's in July now! This is kind of awesome! Although I don't like it when the stores start putting Christmas stuff out before Halloween.

I have TONS of things on my wish list! I've decided I need a portable scanner. So we'll see if I get one!

Oh man - really???

I saw all the fall stuff coming out in JoAnn's Fabrics last week and got sad, we can never enjoy the season we're in!

To be honest, I'd probably take advantage of the sales for myself...I'm pretty selfish like that.

But you rock, you rock for being on top of things, when I'm out Christmas Eve - you'll be laughing at me running around like a chicken with its head cut off. :)

I believe they did this last year too... AND I didn't partake then either. lol

I am one of those wait till Octoberish type gals.

BUT I always have my wish list handy! ;)

My goal EVERY year is to have at least 50% of my gifts bought before Dec 1st. Never happens. I'm lucky to have 1 gift bought.

I think we have a Christmas in July festival going on this weekend.. I need to check that out!

I do hate that stores start so early with the decorations and stuff. By the time the holiday gets here I'm sick of looking at it all LOL.

My MIL starts the day after Christmas for next year. It just annoys me when it is still summer and I can't find a bathing suit.
