Gender Reveal

Warning: This could be a tad long!

Thursday, Erik and I went to our 18 month scheduled sonogram where we had a Level II screening and also a gender reveal!  We both came to the appointment with our top 3 picks of names for both girls and boys.  This was mainly for first names, but if we had middle names, it was a bonus.

More about the results later.

Friday was BUSY! I was quickly trying to get the house cleaned and ready with decorations for a Gender Reveal Party!  I was so excited and nervous all at the same time!!

So, lets get to the decorations, shall we!Deco 1 You can’t go wrong with balloons! They help spice up the color in any room for a party! I also found some cute cupcake stands that you could either use girl or boy on the top, so that was perfect! I got the glass containers with pink and blue sixlets candies (I thought these candies were obsolete b/c I haven’t seen them since I was like 5 or 6)to fill them up and added ribbon around each that said ‘It’s a Boy’ & ‘It’s a Girl’!  Deco 2 I knew our friends and family would have fun with the build up of the reveal, but to add more fun to the party… I added a station where people got a name tag!  They added a pink or blue sticker letting everyone know which team they were on and little baby tickets to write down the First Name they were guessing that we would name Baby #3 and at the end of the reveal, we would check the names and if anyone guessed correctly, they won a prize! (Starbucks gift cards… can’t go wrong there!)DECO 4 DECO 3 Everyone was eligible to vote for their team, even our little guests.. Avery & Shepherd got in on Team Blue!LITTLE PEOPLE VOTE Team Blue was the overwhelming choice!TEAM PICS And then cupcakes were handed out and with a quick count, 1-2-3, GO!  Everyone dove into their cupcakes to find out what was inside!! Pink or Blue!REVEAL Here is what our teams saw!ITS A GIRL My favorite cake lady Michelle from Hands on Design made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and filled them with Bavarian pink cream!
It was now time to check the name basket and see if anyone guessed our baby girls name correctly!! We had 2 winners!! Her name is said like ‘Rain’ but spelled with a lil’ more sass!
Rayne Nicole It meant the world to Erik, myself, Ryan and Reese to have our friends and family join us to announce such fun news!! I have seen and read about Gender Reveal parties before and since this is our last addition to our family, what better way to end with a bang than to do it up right!!  Thank you so much to all who could make it and thank you also for all who voted on the blog for the gender! It was a lot of fun!!!Friends and Family

XOXO!! Erik, Janette, Ryan, Reese & Rayne
