Tuesday Tribute

Welcome to Week 3 of Tuesday Tribute!

Tuesday Tribute is brought to you by ME and my gal pal Allison over at Tri & Finish.

We all have friends, family, co-workers or even the new friend you met via blog hopping that you genuinely care about and want to let them know.  You may have someone whom you’ve lost and never got the chance to tell how you felt.  Lets not let anymore time go by without letting those we care about know how we feel!

Rules to participate…

1.  Be or become a follower of this blog

What is the longest friendship you have ever had?  When I think back to mine, I have had ONE friend that I have in my life that I have known since I was 3-4 years old.  That makes 30 years and writing that out makes me feel uber old even though I know being 33 isn’t that old.

Her name is Jennifer “JENNY” Hooks.  She has married and is now Ward,  but she is and always will be JENNY Hooks to me.  We met in Preschool which I cannot recall the name of… I am sure she would remember or her mom, Kathy would.

My earliest memories being with Jenny bring smiles to my face.  The two of us could sit in a room together, most likely doing something mischievous and laugh until our little bellies hurt!  I also remember that our favorite song to sing to was “Elvira” by the Oak Ridge Boys as my grandfather would drive us in his car to go get Icecream at Baskin & Robbins.  I know we both had chocolate all over our faces by the time we were done.  One of her memories is of me finding a magic marker and going to her brother’s room and adding some art to his dresser which I cannot admit to because I have no memory of that!

Another fun memory I have is going to this place called Sesame Street World.  Now, I am not sure if this was a REAL place or if I dreamt about it but I am almost 100% sure it existed.  Otherwise, I had an amazing imagination as a child! ha!

Jenny and I didn’t live near each other long, but she was always on my mind no matter where I lived.  We wrote letters to each other all the time! I loved checking the mail to get a letter from her and sending her stuff in the mail too.  I still have the letters to this day!

There is never a time when we don’t see each other and pick up from the last moment we saw each other.  She is my sister, no doubt and I will always consider her part of my family.  Nothing can tear us apart!! I can imagine us being old and wrinkly and still finding the humor in life and laughing till our bellies hurt.  I love you Jenny Hooks!!!  I am excited for our kids to grow up together!! It warms my heart that your daughter Illa and Ryan were born so close together like we were and can say they have known each other as long as us!  Its rare to have a friend for this long and I treasure it, ALWAYS!

How awesome! It's fun to have friends that you can just share a look and crack up about something that happed 15 years ago. Nobody else gets it!

Friends like that are hard to come by.
