Hello Friday!

Its Friday Confessionals and I”m linkin’ up with Mamarazi again!

I confess….that I am truly envious of the women/men out there who are coupon experts and at the same time I think it is the most ridiculous thing ever.

Let me explain… If a reward card is FREE at a store and all you have to do is HAVE one to save money, then why not just make things cheaper for everyone? Why is it only privy to the ones who don’t mind collecting several stacks of plastic in their wallets.  I’ve shown you my purse.. trust me, there’s no room for silly cards.

I confess…I really do want to save money like friends I read on facebook or the people on the news who share stories of getting $356 worth of groceries and walk away spending $.34.

Let me explain….I’ve read online self help sites that talk about how EASY it is and let me just say this… NO ITS NOT!  It is a full time job.  I read one website where it said you should get 4-6 different newspapers on Sundays to clip coupons!  Have you seen the newspapers and the costs lately?  They are flimsy crap.  The Sunday paper I recall costing $1.25 or $1.50, probably cheaper, but I didn’t care about the paper before that time and was thick enough that you needed to carry it with both hands.   Now its like $3.00 and only a few pieces of paper!  I pulled out the coupons with excitement and I think overall we saved $.75 on Pillsbury crescent rolls.

And to add to this… one of the other helpful hints for successful couponing is stocking up on items and shopping around several stores in your area to really make a great impact on your shopping bills!

Dear Companies who make women drive all over the free world to save a Dollar…. please just sell things at a lower price and save us the gas and time.  I guarantee you will have more people shopping and buying so you will still make a profit, but think of us working mom’s who do NOT have time to drive all over the world because we barely have time to shave our legs!

I confess…I am a tad bitter about this.  Sorry to vent.

I confess… even after all this is sad…. I desperately want to hit up Target right now, stock up on all fun and cute things EASTER at Hobby Lobby and get my kids the cutest Easter baskets for their upcoming weekends/week celebrating Jesus!  Got a coupon?

Side note:  I have signed up for several sites that are suppose to be alerting me to savings and coupons in my area and no savings yet at least worth mentioning… but you can get a tour of the Cowboys Stadium for $45 for today only!

On a non-Confessional note:

Mamarazi had a swap party recently that I missed by the hair of my chinny chin chin and one of her followers and my blog pals was sweet enough to do a side swap with me along with her own scheduled swap.  I felt so loved.  Thank you to Amy!! Check out her site when you have time… she’s a real sweet peach!!

I got a sweet package full of her favorites that she shared… Reese’s Peanut Butter egg which did not make it 5 minutes outside of the box!  A sassy fun pink shade for my tootsie’s or even finger nails, a cute tumbler with my initial on it, sparkly new bracelet and some soft fuzzy house sock/slippers!

And as if this post isn’t long enough already…had to take this shot of my sweet baby girl who apparently has contracted Pink Eye and its currently kickin’ her tail!  Looks like she’s be smacked around in the baby ring a few times!! Prayers for a quick recovery!!

I agree with you about the loyalty cards! I have one for every place I go though on my key ring. I do wish we had more of the big chain grocery stores here though that doubled or tripled coupons. All we have here is Wal-Mart and Brookshires. Neither do anything special with coupons so to me it's not worth the time to save .50 cents.

Love all the pink goodies you got! Can't wait to join the swap!

Poor Reese! Hopefully she'll be feeling better soon!

I shop at Albertson's--they did away with the card and give the discounts to everyone.
I don't coupon--I can never remember to use the darn things at the check out.
Hope the pink eye goes away soon.

I don't do coupons but man I wish I did. I want to buy $356 worth and only shell out $.34. Do you know how high gas prices are right now? It sucks.

What a nice little swap!! You scored some great swag! <--I love that word.

Your baby girl makes me so sad. Look at those poor eyes! Aw, poor baby.

I totally voted. I think it's a girl! ;)

I completely agree with you on the coupons. I watched some random show (I don't remember what channel, I don't have cable & it was at my nana's house) but it was completely dedicated to these ladies who get some crazy $$$ of groceries for nothing! Ridiculous. (yes envious all in the same sense)!

A friend of mine just told me she is going to be doing the 'extreme couponing' and it is a full time job. She is a SAHM and has plenty of time to do it, unlike me.

YOu are right though, it is hard to find good coupons in the newspaper. Like my dad always told me, if you buy something just because you have a coupon, you aren't saving anything. He's right!

Happy weekend!
