Can’t suck it in anymore!

Hello friends, family, and fellow blog readers.  I am very excited to make a special announcement.  I actually wrote this post last week in hopes to tell people sooner but ended up having my gallbladder out.  I wanted to be sure that I told my work before I published it on my blog or facebook, so today is the day!
BIG BROTHER
BIG SISTER
Yes! Wow!  We are 13 weeks along (actually 14 as of this week), now in my 2nd Trimester and finally able to announce the good news!  It feels good to be able to get it out!!

For friends and family with their jaws on the floor….
Our original plan was to wait until Reese was at least a year or two old before we discussed baby #3.  I also have been thinking a lot about ‘how do you know when you are done?’  I wasn’t sure if we were meant to have more children or if Ryan and Reese were IT.  I guess God was listening and decided to answer my question.  In early February we were home for about 2 weeks with ice and both kids contracting RSV and I honestly thought that since I was home with them so much with both of them sick that I was catching a terrible cold or maybe a stomach bug.  I remember driving home and making a pit stop at Walgreen’s to get Ryan some cough medicine and went ahead and got a pregnancy test just to ‘see’.  I came home and snuck off to take the test and hid it behind the door.  I really didn’t think this would be positive so I didn’t want to bring it up if there was no reason to!  I walked in and looked at the test, then looked closer and just recall saying to myself “NO WAY!”  I had no idea how I was going to tell Erik.. I put the test on the kitchen table and let him discover it himself.  I was seriously at a loss of how to tell!!  “SURPRISE!”
So, now my brain was turning… How do we tell the family?  This will surely be a surprise for them!! They wouldn’t be expecting this news for a while longer.  So, I found a gal who makes these super cute necklaces at GRACENS DESIGNS.
I had pea pod necklaces made for all the girls in our close family.  Everyone’s pod had 3 peas for each child.  I did have another made with 4 peas in the pod for Kaye’s mom who has now 4 great grandchildren.  It was just a lil’ happy gift we gave for everyone and when they all opened their gifts, Ryan asked, “How many peas in the pod?”  The hint was that there was a disc on each necklace with their names on them.

And a shot with Gammy as we both wear our necklaces proudly!!!
We are due October 11th and a scheduled C-Section will give a specific date, likely to be the 4th.  We are very excited!!! We would love a boy or a girl and just pray for a healthy baby.
I share my news and still have a heavy spot in my heart because I know a few friends who are trying to have a baby and have either not been successful or had tough times to go through with loss.  I pray for each and every one of you and know, especially with how things worked out for us, that it is really in God’s hands.
A friend of mine at work has a daughter and tried for 2 more children afterwards.  One was a still born and the 2nd passed away after 35 days.  Heartbreaking.  He and his wife were blessed around the same time Reese was born to be foster parents to a new born baby girl.  She is almost 9 months old and at a court hearing a week or so ago, the Mother who still has rights to the child decided she wanted the baby to go to someone else.  My heart breaks for them.  I called on Gracens Designs again and asked if she could make something for my friend and I love the creation.  I encourage anyone who has been through an adoption that hasn’t worked out or even suffered the loss of a child after birth or even miscarriage to get yourself a sweet little reminder that you can wear close to your heart where you are carrying the memory for always anyway.

Congratulations!! ;) I was going to ask on your last post how that worked with getting your gallbladder out?? I actually have had the same issues right before I got pregnant, and was worried if it started happening during my pregnancy what would happen.

Those necklaces are adorable...I don't think I could have one made until we know we are done though!

Congratulations! What a fun way to tell people - I love the necklaces and have never seen them before. :)

I sometimes wonder about knowing about being done too - I hope our answer comes in an obvious form like yours did. :)

Thank you so much for ordering from my daughters on-line jewelery store. GracensDesigns.com. I am so very proud of her. I have been very blessed to have her and 2 more children later on. She too was a preemie baby weighing in only at 3 pounds and about 14 inches long. She was 8-9 weeks early and doing well today as you see. The doctors told me that she would be both physically and mentally late in development. Wow she proved them wrong in every way imaginable. My 2 younger ones too were born early as I would not ever carry full term babies, so I dooooo feeeel verrrrry blessed to have all 3 of them. This is her mom and I am very proud of all 3 of my children and 41/2 grandbabies, the 1/2 is still in her mommy's belly and doing well! God Bless everyone. And congratulations to you and your family for children really do fill everyday of ones life to the fullest. Cherish your many memories now and in the coming.
