Sledding to the Rescue

The 1-3 inch forecast for snow here in the McKinney area turned out to be more like 6 inches.  Mackie was thrilled to go outside and make tracks in the backyard and eat the snow… she was in doggie heaven considering I’ve probably smoked her out with the heat on and the fire going.  It is truly beautiful outside!  Trees are coated with snow, flurries are flying in the air and there is powder everywhere.  We certainly cannot forget about the ice that sits below, but it was a nice change of pace from the week home with pure ice which isn’t nearly as eye catching.

Pap and Gammy came by (thank goodness) to visit and play with the kiddo’s for a little bit.  It was very nice to have adult conversation and Pap even took me for my first ride out since Monday!  It was so nice to be out.  I told him I felt like a prisoner who was just released on parole!  Its a little dramatic, but that’s how I roll.

There were so many kids outside taking advantage of the snowy hills and using make-shift sleds to slide down the hills.  It looked so fun so we decided to check into Wal-Mart's selection of slippery possibilities and gear up with Ryan to give the hills a go!

<Note to self: order a sled b/c they do not sell them here in Texas and come up with a list of reasons why gas logs are better>

Here’s a peek inside our adventure!  Ahh.. FRESH AIR!! Brrr!!

Do you happen to know how to reply to comments? I'm not quite new to blogging but i've just recently started getting more into it since I finished up school in Dec. Stay warm!

I've been wondering where all these people have been getting sleds around here!! Some are using boogie-boards but they don't work as well!
I was going to tell you, we have gas logs and I wanted them so bad. Now, we hardly use them. They are pretty and mess free but they just don't put off much heat. Maybe if you have your fireplace in more of an inclosed area? Ours is in the family room off the kitchen and it's open. Kind of a downer considering the $$ it cost.
