It’s my style!

I have become a huge fan of Liberty’s blog and have become obsessed with her coffee cozies.

cozies I placed an order for a few and she wrote me back and asked me if I could tell her what my “style” was… WOW! What a good question!  I don’t even know how to really answer it in a quick word or phrase!  So, I thought… lets explore this topic.

How do you answer this question?  What is the first thing you think of?  I first thought of my clothes and then my hair/make up and then thought about my house.. Its tough to really pin point my style! So I’m walking you through from top to bottom of my list!

Hair-Make Up-Jewelry: I hate to say it, but I have probably had the same hair cut since I was in 8th grade.  It is straight, all one length with no bangs unless they were created due to breakage.  Over the years I have tried to go on the wild side and do layers or go shorter but I always end up back at the same place.  Have you ever had a hair person ask you what kind of products you use?  I have found that my answer makes most cringe.  I love Pantene.  For fine, thin hair, it works for me and all stylists say it is bad for your hair and has wax in it which is just against all good things in the world.

I shop for my make up at the grocery store or Walgreens.  I have NEVER bought from department stores or even know what Clinque sells at their station.  But, I did splurge once back when Jessica Simpson was hot and she came out with her Dessert Line and got her lipgloss which was discontinued but by far my favorite EVER.  I think you might still be able to find it on Amazon!

My Jewelry is simple—I like to buy studs from Brighton or Ann Taylor, in fact I think I might actually own these from Ann Taylor.

When I was in highschool, everyone was wearing a double piercing in their ears and a ring on nearly every finger.  I was a huge junkie of James Avery but now all you will usually find me wearing is my wedding ring and that’s it… (pictured is not me or Erik)

My clothes and shoes:  probably pretty darn boring… I would love to add some sass to my wardrobe and get some flirty fun shoes but I always end up buying the same things over and over again!  Black-White-Gray-Pink-and maybe Red… I can’t remember the last time I bought new shoes that I loved!  I am now hip though b/c I own some Miss Me Jeans! ha! I do love some cute Yellow Box Flip flops or sandals… I love Nike Air Max tenni’s and Sketchers has some great styles for work or fun!

My house and deco:  I can’t pin point my style for my house but I can tell you what I don’t like…. I am not a fan of the country look and have tons of friends who love that style, so I’m not bashing… I also can’t get into the Native American or New Mexico style either.  You won’t find feng shui in my house.  You will likely see dark wood furniture and I hope it comes across as a clean, rich looking, yet warm home. I LOVE sailing themed pictures! I am VERY afraid of the water and being on a sailboat, but they just look so beautiful!

I am sure there are many other aspects that put me into a certain category of style, but I just am not sure which one?  Modern? Contemporary? Who knows!  What about you?

I'm a boring style person. I used to spend big money ($20/bottle) on shampoo because it's the only thing that made my thing oily hair look half normal. Now I use the Pantene for Fine Hair and it's the best shampoo I've ever used (wax or not!). I used to sell Mary Kay so I used those beauty products but now since I don't have a big discount I buy whatever is at Wal-mart or Avon when it's on sale. I shop by price not by style so my wardrobe is pretty basic.

My home is a mix or traditional and modern. I like the clean and simple modern look and my husband likes the warm traditional look. We have a lot of dark wood furniture but with a modern type style.

Aren't you just the sweetest person EVER?!?! :) I LOVE Miss Me jeans with Yellow Box flip flops... I haved lived in this ensemble for a while now. I'm ALL about comfort. I like to look cute, but if I'm not comfortable in it, I can't wear it.

I, too, hav the same hairstyle since middle school. Curly hair...can't do much with it... and I REFUSE to spend an hour on my hair to blowdry it straight every day. My favorite makeup is Physician's Formula... especially for powder.

My one thing I can't live without... LUSH coconut deodorant powder. I splurge on this one. I'm totally addicted.

My house... is kid clutter a style? I LONG to have the potter barn clean and classy look, but the truth is I have clutter I am working on it but always get sidetracked... sigh.

{HUGS} girl!
